How is GDD different from the leadership programs we've already tried?

Most leadership programs are training events with reinforcement bolted on. GDD is reinforcement architecture (Monday Morning Implementation) with training inserted into it. The structural inversion is why behavior actually changes. If previous programs failed at your organization, it is almost certainly because they trained skills without installing the system to hold them in place.

How do we measure whether leadership behavior actually changed?

GDD installation creates measurable artifacts: documented standards, weekly MMI completion rates, drift events identified and corrected, recovery actions logged. These are leading indicators of behavior change. Lagging indicators (retention, engagement scores, manager effectiveness ratings) typically move within 90–180 days. How do we build the business case to our CFO?

Frame the cost of not having a leadership operating system: unwanted leadership turnover, repeated escalations to the executive team, training spend that produces no behavioral change. Does this replace our LMS or learning platform?

Accepted Answer

No. GDD is leadership infrastructure, not a course catalog. Content can be delivered through your existing LMS where it makes sense, and the Monday Morning Implementation cadence runs as a leadership operating rhythm independent of any LMS. The two coexist.

Question 5

How do we keep momentum after the formal program ends?

Accepted Answer

That is the entire purpose of MMI. Installation does not produce momentum that has to be sustained — it produces a permanent weekly cadence that runs as long as the executive team protects it. Loss of momentum is almost always traced to MMI getting deprioritized, not to GDD itself.

Who inside our organization owns this after LLI leaves?

An internal steward is identified during the install and formally handed governance in the final session. This is typically an HR or L&D leader who runs the MMI cadence, maintains the standards documentation, and onboards new leaders into the system. LLI trains and certifies this internal steward as part of the installation.

Can we pilot GDD before a full rollout?

Yes. Two common pilot paths. (1) Send 5–15 leaders through the DEC Foundation cohort and measure behavioral change in that group. (2) Run the 90-Day Cohort Installation with the executive team only before expanding to the broader leadership population. Both produce signal on whether to scale.

How does this integrate with our existing performance management?

GDD makes performance management easier, not harder. The Lock Standards step produces explicit behavioral standards that plug directly into performance reviews, calibration, and succession planning. Many clients use GDD standards as the behavioral language layer that their performance system was missing.

What is our role as HR during the installation?

HR's role is structural, not delivery. You help select the executive cohort, coordinate logistics, identify the internal steward who will run the cadence post-install, and ensure standards are integrated into existing people processes (hiring, onboarding, performance, succession). LLI delivers the content; HR owns the integration.
